Hello, I'm here to write a critique for :iconfeedbackfrenzy: contest!

The leafs covered by frost have one poetical feeling: autumn fighting the winter's arrival.
The frost on the leafs creates an interesting texture, which makes the photo become alive. I think you balanced well the elements in your photo, the white background helps highlighting the main subject (the leafs).
The framing is good, having a part of the picture covered in white. But you cropped too much: seeing a bit more of all the leafs would give the idea of a "whole".

This was my opinion as an amateur photographer, please don't feel offended. Keep up the good work!
Happy Holidays! :santa:

hey, i'm commenting for #FeedbackFrenzy's contest

really great composition
the way the frost adds to the negative is fantastic :D
i also love how the light shines through the leaves

it's a bit bright on the right side tho
i feel like it wants to have some blue over there too
that would really emphasize the orange of the leaves

Thanks so much for your feedback, I appreciate it!! Yes, it is a little white! I was trying to take the picture from an angle that only focussed on the leaves and as a result the only thing in the background was a bank of freshly fallen clean white snow. : )

makes sense
i can see the hint of a few shadows in the snow at the top right

i think they would break the negative just subtly enough to really strengthen the image, if they were just a bit more visible; you could prolly use a different picture of snow at a similar angle and photoshop to mess around with feint shadow shapes...

Thank you for the suggestion, very helpful! (Hope you get full marks for this critique!!)

To be honest, I am new to photography and have been focussing on taking the pictures so far. Post-production is something I still have to dive into. I am limited to what I can do in iphoto at the moment which really isn't much. Knowing the types of things to work on when I get to that stage is most helpful so thanks again.

no problem :)

im not sure if my suggestions are standard procedure amongst photographers tho...
idk if that sort of photomanipulation is cheating or not ^^;
